A dog can be a great addition to any household. But you must first consider the implications of bringing a dog into your life.
1. Dogs are not disposable
They aren’t something you can get rid of when you are bored of them. They are not toys. They are not something to be used and thrown away. These pets are not disposable. Dogs are not disposable or cheap, they are not “just dogs”, they are living breathing beings with feelings and emotions just like us. We are supposed to care for them, love them, keep them safe, socialize them, train them, and make sure their needs are met. We can’t do this if they are not in our care. A dog shouldn’t ever be bought as a gift as this is not the right reason to bring one into your life. If you buy a dog as a Christmas gift for a child, you are asking for trouble. You are also encouraging that child to be materialistic and to think they can buy their way into anything. The child will not learn about the responsibility that goes along with having a dog, and the dog will be given away or abandoned when the child loses interest and the parents have to pick up the chores.
They aren’t something you can get rid of when you are bored of them. They are not toys. They are not something to be used and thrown away. They are living, breathing creatures that are here to stay. They will be here long after you are gone. They will grieve when you’re gone and they will have no one but themselves to turn to. I beg you, please take care of your animals.
You are their family. PLEASE do not take their lives lightly.
2. Dogs are not simply companions but are members of your family. They are living creatures with individual personalities and needs.
Dogs are not simply companions, but are members of your family. They are living creatures with individual personalities and needs. They are not toys or decorations. They need to be cared for like any other living creature. It is not enough to feed them and let them out to do their business. Dogs need to be exercised, trained, played with, and loved.
Pooches are not cuddly teddy bears, but animals with a strong sense of smell. They are pack animals, and they use their sense of smell to tell whether someone is part of their pack or not.
Your dog doesn’t understand all of what you say, they understand body language. If you want to be friends with your dog, you must make friends with his body language. If you want to be his leader, you must establish your leadership through body language. Dogs choose to be in your life, not the other way around. Dogs are not slaves to humans, they are free spirits. They do not exist to serve you
3. Dogs are not fashion accessories.
Dogs are not fashion accessories. They should not be chosen purely for looks and dressed up for your amusement. They are living creatures with feelings just like us, and they should be treated with the same respect and deference as any other living thing.

4. Dogs are not for people who are unemployed or without the time to take care of them.
Dogs are not for people who are unemployed or without the time to take care of them. They are a lot of work. The breed of dog that you get should fit the size of your home. Smaller dogs do better in apartments while big dogs need a yard. Other characteristics to consider are the dog’s energy level and temperament. Larger dogs tend to be calmer while smaller dogs tend to need more attention. Some breeds are good with children while others are not. Some breeds are very territorial, yet other breeds do well with other dogs and will even protect other dogs. The best way to find out what kind of dog you are looking for is to go to a shelter and look at all the different breeds. Never get a dog from a pet store or a dog broker. If you cannot find a dog that is perfect for you in a shelter, then try to find one that is close to what you want.
5. Dogs are not a substitute for a relationship.
Dogs are not a substitute for a relationship. Love is something that has to be earned. Many dogs are wonderful companions but they can never take the place of a man or woman’s heart. This is why you need to be honest with yourself before you adopt. If you don’t want a pet for your whole life, don’t adopt one. If you don’t want to take responsibility for the rest of the dog’s life, don’t adopt one. If you have not had pets for years, don’t adopt one. If you want to make friends with a dog, go to the pound and adopt one. If you want a dog for a child, go to the pound and adopt one. There is nothing wrong with that. If you want a dog to love, to care for, to bond with, to be a true friend to, and if you are willing to pay the price in time and affection, go to a reputable breeder. Plan on spending at least $500 for a healthy puppy.
6. Dogs are not for people who don’t want to pick up poop.
It is a legal requirement for dog owners to pick up after their dog in all public spaces. The council has a legal duty to enforce this law and will continue to do so.
“We will always issue a warning to dog owners if our wardens see someone letting their dog foul on the street. If they refuse to pick up their dog’s mess, or even worse, they fail to pick it up when asked to do so, then a fixed penalty notice of $100 will be issued and offenders can be taken to court if they refuse to pay.” The council also has a number of signs in place to remind owners to clean up after their pets. These signs are placed in high footfall areas, including parks and play areas. Dog owners can be fined up to $1,000 if their dog causes a nuisance.
7. Dogs are not for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money on
Dogs are not for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money on them. Getting a dog is a big financial commitment. Remember to include food, toys, training classes, and the vet in your calculations. Some vet bills can often take people by surprise. For example, many dogs will develop ear infections at some point in their lives, which in turn can lead to ear surgery. In a best-case scenario, this operation can cost $1000, and in a worst-case scenario, it can cost up to several thousand dollars. And I do not have to tell you how expensive that is.
If you are not in a financial position to take on a dog, and you still feel like you need a dog, please do not get one. You would be doing a great disservice to your dog. Dogs require a great deal of time and care. If you have a dog and work full-time, you likely won’t be able to give your dog the attention that he or she needs. This is the case even if you have a dog sitter. Dogs
8. If you work long hours and live alone then a dog is not for you
Dogs are not for people who are away all day. They need lots of company and attention.
A dog is both a friend and a companion; you can play with him, take him for a walk, cuddle up with him on the sofa, watch television and have him close to you. When you are ill, a dog will be there for you.
Having a dog can be a big responsibility, but it’s all worth it in the end! Let me know your thought sin the comment section below.
